Ulster GAA takes action over alleged “fielding of ineligble players”

ULSTER GAA has taken action over the alleged “fielding of ineligible players” following reported breaches of pre-season Third Level Policy and Regulations.

In dramatic news this afternoon, the provincial body has declared Wednesday evening’s McKenna Cup game between Fermanagh and Cavan null and void. Originally Fermanagh had been awarded the points for a 1-12 to 1-10 victory over Cavan.

They have also reversed the outcome of the mid-week meeting of Armagh and Down. Kieran McGeeney’s side won on the scoreboard with a 3-10 to 0-10 victory over Down, but now the game has been formally awarded to the Mourne County, who take on Tyrone this Sunday in their second group stage encounter.
