Update of the race for Sam

ARMAGH and Meath are already through to the All-Ireland quarter-finals with Sunday’s action set to decide who joins them.

The All-Ireland champions lost to Galway’s roaring comeback with the Royals causing a shock with victory over Kerry.

Down or Monaghan will join them and that will be decided today in the BOX-IT Athletic Grounds.

Derry exit the champions following Saturday’s defeat to Dublin with Roscommon also out after losing to Cork.

The draw for next weekend’s All-Ireland preliminary quarter will take place on Monday morning on RTÉ Radio’s Morning Ireland show.

The teams finishing second will have a home advantage against third placed teams/].

Sunday’s games are:
Group 1 –
Donegal v Mayo and Tyrone v Cavan (both 4pm)
Group 3 – Louth v Clare, Down v Monaghan (both 2pm)

In Group 1, all four teams are on two points:
Donegal +16 score difference
Mayo +4
Tyrone -4
Cavan -16

QUARTER-FINALS (4)
Armagh, Meath and Down or Monaghan
Top team from Group 1 will join them

POT ONE (4) – second placed teams
Dublin, Kerry and Down or Monaghan
Second placed team from Group 1 will join them

POT TWO (4) – third placed teams
Galway, Cork and Louth or Clare
Third placed team from Group 1 will join them

OUT (4)
Derry, Roscommon and Louth or Clare.
Bottom team from Group 1 will join them
