ARMAGH SENIOR FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND TWO

GROUP A

MAGHERY V KILLEAVY

Friday, Maghery, 7pm

KILLEAVY won the Division 1A league title for the first time ever but suffered a first round defeat to Culloville. Maghery beat Clan na Gael in the opening round and is an extremely tough place to go.

Verdict: Maghery

CLAN NA GAEL V CULLOVILLE

Saturday, Davitt Park, 6.45pm

CULLOVILLE are one of the up and coming teams in the Orchard County as shown by their first round win. Clan na Gael were without Shane McPartlan last week and if he returns, they can bounce back from their first round loss.

Verdict: Clan na Gael

GROUP B

PEARSE OG V MADDEN

Saturday, Pearse Og, 6.45pm

WITH both sides losing in the opening weekend, this one is of huge importance as both look to remain in the championship. Madden are aiming for a run in the championship and they should see this one out.

Verdict: Madden

MULLAGHBAWN V CULLYHANNA

Sunday, Mullaghbawn, 6.30pm

CULLYHANNA are now the front runners to top the group but Mullaghbawn will be no pushovers. Jason Duffy and Caolan Reavey should be back in for St Pat’s and that could see them through.

Verdict: Cullyhanna

GROUP C

ST PETER’S V CROSSMAGLEN

Friday, St Peter’s, 7pm

ST PETER’S were the surprise package last weekend, beating Silverbridge, but Cross pose a much tougher test. The Rangers are without a few key men but should still come out on top.

Verdict: Crossmaglen

SILVERBRIDGE V GRANEMORE

Sunday, Silverbridge, 4pm

IT’S been a rough year for Silverbridge, and defeat here could spell the end of their championship campaign. Granemore put in a good display against Cross and will be confident of collecting the two points.

Verdict: Granemore

GROUP D

DROMINTEE V CLANN EIREANN

Saturday, Dromintee, 4.30pm

CLANN Eireann were at their devastating best in the opening round and when they play at top form, every team in the county will struggle to deal with them.

Verdict: Clann Eireann

ARMAGH HARPS V CARRICKCRUPPEN

Saturday, Abbey Park, 6.45pm

HOW Carrickcruppen respond to last week’s 23-point drumming will be interesting and they face another stiff challenge against the Harps, who head into the game as favourites to come out on top.

Verdict: Armagh Harps

ARMAGH INTERMEDIATE FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND TWO

GROUP A

WHITECROSS V FORKHILL

Friday, Whitecross, 7pm

HAVING defeated Keady in round one, Forkhill are in poll position to top the group and they should have too much firepower for a Whitecross side that suffered relegation in the league.

Verdict: Forkhill

COLLEGELAND V KEADY

Friday, Collegeland, 7pm

KEADY would have been disappointed by last week’s loss but this is the perfect opportunity to bounce back. Collegeland are back down to the Junior next year, and Keady will be too strong.

Verdict: Keady

GROUP B

CLANN EIREANN II V TULLYSARAN

Friday, Clann Eireann, 7pm

BOTH teams lost on the opening day, with Division 2A league winners Tullysaran failing to raise a gallop against Wolfe Tones. They’ll have to regroup but Clann Eireann IIs will be no walkovers.

Verdict: Tullysaran

SHANE O’NEILL’S V WOLFE TONES

Saturday, Shane O’Neill’s, 4.30pm

THE Tones were the story of the opening weekend and have huge momentum heading into round two. Shane O’Neill’s will be a tough nut to crack at home, but the Tones may just see this one out.

Verdict: Wolfe Tones

GROUP C

ANNAGHMORE V ST PAUL’S

Sunday, Annaghmore, 4pm

ANNAGHMORE go into this one having won last week while St Paul’s are chasing their first points of the campaign. Annaghmore is a tough place to go so St Paul’s will have to fight for everything.

Verdict: St Paul’s

BELLEEK V GRANGE

Sunday, Belleek, 6.30pm

GRANGE, led by the Rafferty brothers Ethan and Odhran, were so impressive last weekend. Belleek lost their first round tie and will be up against it on Sunday evening.

Verdict: Grange

GROUP D

BALLYMACNAB V DERRYNOOSE

Saturday, Ballymacnab, 2pm

DERRYNOOSE will feel they should have got something from the opening game while Ballymacnab had a huge win over Tir na nOg. This one should go right down to the wire.

Verdict: Ballymacnab

TIR NA NOG V SARSFIELDS

Sunday, Tir na nOg, 2pm

TIR na nOg suffered a huge defeat to Ballymacnab in round one and Sarsfields will have their eyes on topping the group and will be too strong.

Verdict: Sarsfields

ARMAGH JUNIOR FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND THREE

GROUP A

REDMOND O’HANLON’S V LISSUMMON

Sunday, O’Hanlon’s, 2pm

LISSUMMON are already out of the competition, so O’Hanlon’s will win this and if things go their way elsewhere, they’ll top the group.

Verdict: Redmond O’Hanlon’s

BALLYHEGAN V MIDDLETOWN

Sunday, Ballyhegan, 2pm

MIDDLETOWN can still top the group while the best Ballyhegan can do is second place, but there’s a lot riding on this game which should make for a brilliant match.

Verdict: Middletown

GROUP B

CROSSMAGLEN II V THOMAS DAVIS

Saturday, Crossmaglen, 3.45pm

THE winner of this one will head straight to the last eight and both have been firing up decent scores. Cross IIs are without Jack Crummie but home advantage could see them through.

Verdict: Crossmaglen II

KILLEAVY II V MULLABRACK

Saturday, Killeavy, 4.30pm

WHOEVER loses here will see their championship and season come to a close. Division 3B league winners Killeavy IIs should have too much for Mullabrack and they’ll advance.

Verdict: KILLEAVY II

GROUP C

ST MICHAEL’S V DORSEY

Sunday, Newtownhamiliton, 6.30pm

THE two sides will be disappointed that they haven’t picked up any points yet and home advantage could be really important here, so St Michael’s may just edge it.

Verdict: St Michael’s

AN PORT MOR V EIRE OG

Sunday, An Port Mor, 6.30pm

AN Port Mor are the favourites for the title and they should come through this one, although Eire Og will certainly ask them plenty of tough questions.

Verdict: An Port Mor

GROUP D

CLADY V KILLEAN

Friday, Clady, 7pm

CLADY are flying high after last week’s super win over St Peter’s II, where Liam Doyle hit 4-5, and a win for them will see them finish second, with Killean being knocked out.

Verdict: Clady

CLONMORE V ST PETER’S

Friday, Clonmore, 7pm

CLONMORE are one of the favourites for the entire competition and have hit 12 goals in their last two games. They’ll chalk up a third consecutive win here at home.

Verdict: Clonmore

ARMAGH JUNIOR B FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND THREE

Dromintee v Clan na Gael

Sunday, Dromintee, 1pm

THE South Armagh men are struggling and Clan na Gael, fresh off a win over Silverbridge, should take adavantage.

Verdict: Clan na Gael

Madden v Armagh Harps

Sunday, Madden, 2pm

THE top two clash and the Raparees should just edge this.

Verdict: Madden

ARMAGH SENIOR HURLING CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND SEVEN

DERRYNOOSE V KEADY

Tuesday, Derrynoose, 7.15pm

KEADY have been super in the championship so far and they’ll be keen to continue their winning form with a fifth victory on the trot.

Verdict: Keady

MIDDLETOWN V CRAOBH RUA

Tuesday, Middletown, 7.15pm

MIDDLETOWN are chasing seven Armagh SHC titles in seven years and while it’s only the group stages, they’ve made a good start to their title defence. Craobh Rua are and up and coming team but this may be a stretch too far for them.

Verdict: Middletown

KILLEAVY V CUCHULAINNS

Tuesday, Killeavy, 7.15pm

BOTH teams have already slipped out of the top four, so they can’t reach the semi-finals. They’ll have to fulfil this fixture however and Cuchulainns may just have enough to end their season on a high.

Verdict: Cuchulainns

ARMAGH JUNIOR HURLING CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND SIX

KILLEAVY II V ST MALACHY’S

Tuesday, Killeavy, 7.15pm

KILLEAVY IIs have suffered four championship defeats on the bounce – conceding last week’s game – while St Malachy’s have lost just once in the campaign, making them favourites to get the job done here.

Verdict: St Malachy’s

KEADY II V MIDDLETOWN II

Tuesday, Keady, 7.15pm

A WIN will secure top spot for Middletown IIs while Keady IIs can’t alter their position in the table. With more to play for, Middletown IIs should come through this one.

Verdict: Middletown II
