Ulster GAA new year training for club officers

ULSTER GAA, in partnership with National GAA, has launched its 2024 Club Officer Training Programme, which will take place in January 2024.

Club Officer Training is for all club volunteers new to their roles or for anyone who wishes to update their knowledge on issues affecting the club officer roles. All training will be online and registration is essential.

Training for chairpersons, secretaries, treasurers, PROs and club coaching officers will be delivered through the GAA’s Club Leadership Development Programme and will take place on Thursday, January 11, 2024 from 7:30-9:30pm.

Registration for these workshops will be through the GAA’s E Learning Portal Tobar, full details can be found below.

Training takes place on Wednesday, January 17 at 7:30pm; training children’s officer and Irish language and culture officers will be held on Thursday, January 18 at 7:30pm along with a health and wellbeing in your club workshop. Role specific training for healthy club officers is on February 22 at 7:30pm.

Ulster GAA President Ciaran McLaughlin has highlighted the importance of this training programme, saying: “Our club officer training programme is an essential annual training programme to prepare our club officers across Ulster for their year in office.

“We have training for all key club officer roles, so that we build the capacity of our volunteer base to ensure our clubs can operate to the highest standards. These training sessions are easily accessible, now all online, there is no longer the need to travel to access this important information, instead club officers can undertake the training in the comfort of their own home or their own club rooms.

“This training is the best opportunity for club officers to prepare for their year ahead as well as making new connections and contacts which may be helpful to them.

“We are delighted to work with our colleagues in National GAA to deliver this important programme of training workshops. My advice for all clubs is to make sure they are represented at this training so that they don’t miss out on key information and advice from expert and well-trained facilitators.”
