The winner of this category will be announced at our Black Tie Gala Event on Friday 10th March 2023 at the Hillgrove Hotel, Monaghan.

Eimear Traynor, Donaghmoyne

Shane McGuigan, Sleacht Néill

Conal Cunning, Dunloy

 Eimear Traynor (Donaghmoyne)

Eimear is most well known as a buccaneering half-back with Donaghmoyne ladies, but she’s also an excellent camog in her own right and played a big part in Armagh side Culloville’s surge to Intermediate Camogie Championship honours in the county. She’s also in the form of her life with Donaghmoyne and was named on our ladies football team of the year for her standout performances en route to reaching the All-Ireland final.

Shane McGuigan (Sleacht Néill)

What a talent, and what a leader. McGuigan weighed in with four points from midfield as Sleacht Néill hurlers fell short for once in their Ulster final defeat to Dunloy. But as we all know, he’s a formidable footballer as well and shot the lights out in the Derry SFC, finishing as top-scorer with a grand total of 3-33.

Conal Cunning (Dunloy)

Cunning’s markmanship was absolutely crucial on a breakthrough year for the Dunloy hurlers at provincial level, scoring seven crucial points in their Ulster final victory over Sleacht Néill. That was pretty much the story of his season, and he was also exceptional on the football front, scoring heavily in Dunloy’s run to Intermediate honours in Antrim.
