THERE is another weekend of championship action in Armagh.
Here the fixtures…
ARMAGH SENIOR HURLING CHAMPIONSHIP SEMI-FINALS
MIDDLETOWN V CRAOBH RUA
Saturday, BOX-IT Athletic Grounds, 2pm
CRAOBH Rua pushed Middletown all the way at the same stage of the competition last year but getting one over the reigning champions is another thing. Middletown are chasing seven in a row and should at least make the showpiece
Verdict: Middletown
KEADY V DERRYNOOSE
Saturday, BOX-IT Athletic Grounds, 4pm
KEADY have been second best against Middletown over the last few years but remain the second best team in the county. They’ll be hungry to get back to the decider and take home the trophy this time around.
Verdict Keady
ARMAGH INTERMEDIATE HURLING CHAMPIONSHIP SEMI-FINALS
KILLEAVY V SEAN TREACY’S
Sunday, Derrynoose, 2pm
A REPEAT of the Junior final a number of years ago and it was Killeavy that came out on top at that time. Sean Treacy’s reached the junior decider last year and will want to go get their hands on an intermediate title.
Verdict: Sean Treacy’s
CUCHULAINN’S V ST MALACHY’S
Sunday, Middletown, 4pm
ST Malachy’s go into the tie having drawn the JHC final against Middletown II last weekend. They face a step up in class on Sunday however and while Cuchulainns haven’t been performing well over the last few years, they should have too much.
Verdict: Cuchulainns
ARMAGH LADIES SENIOR FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL
CLANN ÉIREANN V CROSSMAGLEN
Sunday, BOX-IT Athletic Grounds, 4pm
CLANN Éireann are not only the top team in the Orchard County, but they are also chasing three in a row of Ulster Championships as well. Cross will be motivated to give them a game, but Clann Éireann are huge favourites.
Verdict: Clann Éireann
ARMAGH LADIES INTERMEDIATE FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL
MULLABRACK V CLAN NA GAEL
Sunday, BOX-IT Athletic Grounds, 1.30pm
CLAN na Gael have lost the last two county finals to Granemore and Derrynoose respectively and while Mullabrack will offer stiff opposition, the Clans will be confident of making it third time lucky.
Verdict: Clan na Gael.
ARMAGH LADIES JUNIOR FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL
LISSUMMON V KEADY
Saturday, Crossmaglen, 1pm
LISSUMMON are boosted by the return of the Marley sisters which possibly gives them the edge this weekend. Both teams upset the odds to win their semi-finals and getting their hands on the trophy is the target now.
Verdict: Lissummon
