McKvr launches its first ever football boot for young players

McKvr, one of Ireland’s fastest-growing sportswear brands, has launched the Clifford Boot for young players. Its first-ever football boot, and the first boot in its landmark partnership with Kerry footballer David Clifford. The product goes on sale from 10am on Tuesday 27th October.

Designed specifically for young GAA players, the Clifford Boot gives a new generation of kids a boot of their own, built for Gaelic football and carrying the name of the player so many of them look up to. It marks a significant step for the Irish, family-run brand as it moves into footwear for the first time.

“To have a boot with my name on it, that young players can lace up and go practice in is a brilliant feeling,” Clifford outlines.

“For me it’s always been about the training and the repetition, and if these boots get a few more kids out there bettering themselves, that means a lot. I hope it gets them out onto the pitch putting in the same work and getting the same enjoyment.”

The boot launches as part of McKvr’s Kick Like Clifford campaign, fronted by David Clifford and built around The Sweet Spot – the target every young player is chasing: the clean strike, the perfect contact, the moment it all clicks.

Finished in a bold red and black and available as velcro or laced in junior and adult sizes up to size 10, the Clifford Boot is priced at an accessible, kids’ price point designed to put it within reach of young players and their families.

The Clifford Boot is the first step in McKvr’s move into footwear. A separate high-end boot, distinct from the Clifford range, is in development, set to come to market in 2027 and is targeted at elite players.
