Nominees: Camogie Manager of the Year

Below are the nominees for the 2023 Camogie Manager of the Year. Find out more about this year’s shortlisted nominees below.

Benny Dillon – Loughgiel

Loughgiel maintained their place at the top of the tree for the second year running and manager for both of their Ulster Senior Championship winning campaigns was Benny Dillon. For much of the last decade they lived in the shadow of Sleacht Néill but they broke through the glass ceiling in 2022 and retained their Ulster title in style last year. Dillon has now stepped down as manager of the Shamrocks but it’s fair to say he’s left a lasting legacy.

Connor Devlin – Granemore

The achievements of 2023 will never be forgotten in Granemore as they not only claimed Ulster Junior Championship honours but went all the way to the All-Ireland title. They not only played some stunning camogie, but edged a series of hard-fought battles, testament not only to the players themselves but the input of their manager Connor Devlin. He described his team as ‘mentality monsters’ but he also deserves credit for the role in their success.

Paul Monahan – Crossmaglen

Middletown man Paul Monahan has done a fantastic job with the Crossmaglen camogs and in his second season in charge he led the team to the brink of All-Ireland glory. They were in scintillating form in the Ulster Junior ‘B’ Championship final against Kill Shamrocks and while they lost out on All-Ireland final day, the entire set-up can be immensely proud of what they achieved in the 2023 season.

Voting opens at 10am on Thursday 1st February and will close at 10am on Monday 5th February. Votes do not determine the final winners but help create awareness of the nominee’s shortlisting. The winner of this category will be announced at our Gala Awards Night at the Hillgrove Hotel, Monaghan on Friday 1st March 2024.
