GAELIC Life columnist Ciaran McKeever has said that Cavan deserve immense praise for upsetting the pre-league predictions.

The former Armagh defender has analysed the four National League divisions in today’s edition ahead of a crucial few weeks of action, and he has been impressed with the Breffni county.

“Yes, they were Division One last year but a lot of people expected them to drop down another division too, but it’s been quite the opposite.

“They are probably just one more win away from promotion and they can ram home their good start at home to Down this weekend.”
