FAMILAIR STORY…Finnian Moriarty anticpates further heartache for Mayo this weekend

FORMER Armagh defender Finnian Moriarty has said that Mayo need to completely change their style if they are to stand a chance of defeating Tyrone in Saturday’s All-Ireland quarter-final.

In his column in today’s Gaelic Life, Moriarty argues that the sharks are circling around Stephen Rochford’s side.

“It’s an open and shut case surely. Mayo, a team of supreme footballers, are struggling for form, struggling to put lesser teams away, struggling with their sweeper, struggling for confidence, just struggling,” he said.

“It seems as if they so desperately want and need to do well that they are being inhibited by the height of their own aspirations, suffocating on their own desire. Something just doesn’t seem right.
“In the Tyrone camp however they believe they’re back. Beliefs drive behaviour and behaviour effects performance and Tyrone are starting to perform.”
