Steven Poacher – Coaches must get better

He recounts his experience of going to the Clann na Gael club in Roscommon, and reading their player development pathway booklet.

“The next couple of lines from the chairman Declan Rock were, for me, the most important and should be remain the most important message in every single club.

“‘If we want to improve our playing standards, we must continue to improve our coaches. We can’t afford to stand still and rest on our laurels. We must strive towards  a culture of continuous improvement  in our coaching standards, one where new methods, ideas and personnel are embraced and where new voices are always welcomed and encouraged’.”
