Loughgiel will be eager to hit back after last year’s failure to reach the county final.

After beating Naomh Eoin and Naomh Gall in the group stages, they qualified for the semi-finals where Dunloy were waiting for them. However, the Cuchullains prevailed on a scoreline of 0-20 to 0-17.

Ask any of the Loughgiel men and they will say that every year their goal is to win the championship, but the quick turn around this year, means that prepartions have been short. Hugh McCann is still the manager and that is a positive, and should provide a level of stability that will help the team. But they have a very difficult start this weekend against one of their rivals Cushendall.
