Six Armagh players nominated for All-Stars

SIX Armagh players have been shortlisted for TG4 All-Star Awards, with the final team being announced at a gala banquet at The Bonnington Dublin Hotel on Saturday, November 14.

The 2026 TG4 Junior, Intermediate and Senior Players’ Player of the Year Award winners will also be revealed on the night, while the 2026 inductee into the Ladies Gaelic Football Association Hall of Fame will be acknowledged.

Armagh secured their place in Division One this season, won the Ulster Championship and reached the All-Ireland semi-finals.

Ultimately, Gregory McGonigle’s girls came up short against eventual All-Ireland winners Galway, who proved much too strong in the end.

Goalkeeper Brianna Mathers earns her first All-Star nomination while Emily Druse and Lauren McConville have been nominated in the half back line.

Blaithín Mackin is selected as one of the midfield options while sharpshooters Aimee Mackin and Kelly Mallon are shortlisted in the full forward line.

Only Galway and Kerry, the two teams that ultimately contested the All-Ireland final, have more nominations than the Orchard County.

Antrim dominated the Junior Team of the Yea having won the All-Ireland title, with Maeve Blaney, Maeve Mulholland, Carla McKenna, Lara Dahunsi, Theresa Mellon and Maria O’Neill were selected while Derry’s Annie Ní Lochlainn was also included.

Having contested the Intermediate decider, Fermanagh picked up four All-Stars, namely Shannan McQuade, Cadhla-Cara Bogue, Niamh McManus and Eimear Smyth, while Down’s Erin Sands and Eimear Fitzpatrick picked up awards as well.
