Cavan to celebrate Kingspan Breffni centenary with range of events

Cavan GAA will hosting a celebration of the centennial anniversary of Kingspan Breffni next month from 25th-29th of July.

This centennial milestone will be an opportunity for Cavan GAA and the wider community to come together to celebrate the stadium’s legacy, highlighting how it has played such an important role in the lives of Cavan people.

All clubs and codes are invited to participate in an Ecumenical Service taking place in the Cathedral of St. Patrick and St Felim on Saturday July 29 at 11am. After the Ecumenical Service, there will be a parade of clubs through the town to Kingspan Breffni. Each club will be led by their club banner. Following the parade, there will be an under 13 football blitz.

During this week of celebrations, visitors will also have the chance to take a guided tour of the stadium and learn more about its history and significance. There are a number of activities planned to celebrate the occasion including a photographic exhibition capturing notable memories of the past, and a cultural evening.
