MALACHY O’Rourke is set to remain in charge of Glen for a second season, Gaelic Life understands.
O’Rourke and Ryan Porter led a management team that delivered the club’s first ever Derry senior title in 2021.
After wins over Scotstown and St Eunan’s in Ulster, Glen were pipped after extra time by Kilcoo thanks to a Jerome Johnston goal.
“Looking back, we’ll learn plenty from it,” O’Rourke commented after the game.
“Immediately after it, you are disappointed. You are so close and we felt we had the game in our grasp at that stage,” he said referring to them hitting the front for the first time with a free from Conor Glass.
“We’ll go back and look back at how things went and hopefully it will help us going forward, although it is hard to get that consolation at this stage,” he said, hinting at unfinished business.
Glen have yet to make any announcement on O’Rourke’s ratification, but it’s understood he is set to remain in charge.
