Derry Star Callum Brown Seals Move Down Under

Derry starlet, Callum Brown has signed a two-year deal with Aussie Rules club, Great Western Sydney Giants.

Brown is expected to travel to Australia in November after being identified by the Giants’ Irish scouting programme in July 2017 before undertaking a 12-month trial process with the club.

The 18-year-old flew to Australia in August to spend two weeks training with the Giants under the eye of coach Leon Cameron.

Former Cavan player, Nicholas Walsh, a defensive coach with the Giants watched Brown play for his club Limavady earlier in the season.

Brown becomes the second player from the Oakleaf county to make a move down under in as many weeks with news that Anton Tohill moving to Collingwood.

In recent month’s Brown has helped his club, Limavady to the Derry Junior Title and are currently sitting in the semi-final of the Ulster Championship.
