McGuinness provides update on Langan absence

DONEGAL senior football manager, Jim McGuinness, gave an update on Michael Langan’s absence for Sunday’s Ulster Championship defeat to Down at O’Donnell Park.

The Donegal joint-captain was listed to start for the meeting with the Mourne County, but a late change to the team saw Ciarán Moore take his place in the side.

It was a big blow for the reigning Dr McKenna Cup and Division One champions to be without the St Michael’s clubman, who has performed excellently to date this term.

Speaking after Sunday’s defeat to Conor Laverty’s side, McGuinness stated that the 2025 All-Star suffered an ankle injury in the lead-up to the game but is hopeful that he’ll make a swift return to the field.

“Michael (Langan) rolled his ankle in training, but he should be okay moving forward”, said the Donegal boss.
