IT’S all to play for heading into the final weekend of the Fermanagh Club Leagues, with the last round of fixtures coming up on Sunday.
Derrygonnelly cannot be caught at the top of the table, so they have already qualified for the league final with 27 points. They defeated Erne Gaels in a refixed encounter on Tuesday night, 1-13 to 2-9.
Jarlath Flanagan palmed home the only goal of the game for the league leaders while Luke Ryder and Seamus Ryder (penalty) both raised green flags at the other end of the field.
The Harps finish their campaign away from home this weekend against Teemore Shamrocks, who are still in the reckoning for that other league final position.
Ahead of the last round, the Shamrocks are in primed position to reach the decider, but they’ll need to avoid defeat against the Harps to secure their spot.
If Teemore lose on Sunday and Erne Gaels overcome Enniskillen Gaels, away from home, then the back-to-back championship winners will slip into second place and latch on to that league final position.
No matter what happens at the weekend, Aghadrumsee, who host Devenish, can only finish bottom, having only secured one win in their previous 13 outings, so they will play Division Two football in 2027.
In Division Two, Ederney have already booked their place in the final with a game to play as they are currently nine points clear at the top of the table, having won 12 of their 14 games this season.
They have Roslea coming to town on Sunday afternoon and the Shamrocks must win to ensure their place in the league final. They are currently in second spot, just two points ahead of third placed Kinawley. Should Roslea come up short and Kinawely defeat Newtownbutler, then they’ll swap positions and it’s Kinawely who will face Ederney in the league final and the two will battle it out for promotion to the top tier.
Like Division One, Belcoo know their fate before their final round against Lisnaskea as they have already been relegated to the bottom tier.
In Division Three, St Patrick’s Donagh and Tempo Maguires clash on the final day and they are the top two teams in the table. Derrylin can still catch Tempo on 25 points, but Tempo’s superior head-to-head record means their sure of their position in the league final.
