RORY Beggan has been named in the Monaghan starting team that will face Louth in Sunday’s All-Ireland quarter-final.
The Farney men are aiming to get back to the semi-final stages for the third time in nine years having previously made it back in 2018 and 2023, although they came up short against Tyrone and Dublin respectively.
Beggan left the field early last weekend as they knocked out Leinster champions Westmeath. The Scotstown shot stopper landed three two-point frees during the first half of their 1-28 to 2-19 victory.
Karl Gallagher was another injury concern ahead of their trip to Croke Park having gone off during the first half the last day out, but he returns to partner Michéal McCarville at centerfield.
Garbiel Bannigan has gone with his tried and trusted and has named the same 15 that saw off Mark McHugh’s side last Sunday.
