Morgan: Scotstown are calm ahead of the final

Donal Morgan has stressed that there will be no Al Pacino, Any Given Sunday speeches ahead of Sunday’s Ulster Final clash with Gaoth Dobhair.

The Farney men were unsure of their place in the decider until the very last kick after a titanic tussle with Eoghan Rua in the last four.

Despite trailing and effectively having to chase the game the Scotstown stalwart has stressed that they never panicked.

It was that man Rory Beggan who came up with the goods at the end, nailing a late free to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.

“I’m always confident in Rory. The only problem was that the conditions were really tough. It was always going to be a difficult kick but there was no better man to take it.

“It wasn’t a case of not being able to get our hands on the ball, so we knew we were probably going to get chances. The closer we got to the end of the game the more we had to be careful with our chances.”

Morgan is under no illusions that another mammoth battle lies ahead after the Donegal kingpins easily disposed of Crossmaglen in their semi-final.

The Scotstown stalwart continues to speak of the journey and how success and an Ulster title was far-fetched in his younger days, all of this can be read in the full article with Niall Gartland.
