Red Hands Pass Stubborn Student Test

Dr McKenna Cup Section C 2019

Tyrone 2-14

Ulster University 1-9

From Odhrán Crumley at Healy Park

Second half goals from Declan McClure and substitute Peter Harte have secured a second win on the bounce for the Red Hands.

The Student’s made life difficult in the first half with Tyrone native Lee Brennan leading the charge on the scoring front as debutant, Ryan Gray impressed for the home team who led by three at the break on a score line of 0-8 to 0-5.

In the second half the fitness and strength of Mickey Harte’s panel would tell as McClure and Harte netted goals with Daire Gallagher netting against his home county in between.

Peter Harte would mark his return to the fold with 1-2 while Mulgrew, Kennedy and Rafferty added scores to seal the victory.

Tyrone will now meet Fermanagh at Healy Park on Wednesday night while UUJ will travel to Owenbeg to take on Derry.
