Yesterday’s refixed Tyrone v Cavan NFL division one clash at Healy Park provided a perfect opportunity for hacks to dust off the old favourite Sporting cliche of ‘a game of two halves’, as the Red Hands’ second half performance helped them beat the Breffni men.
Thanks to some outstanding distance shooting from Gearoid McKieranan and Martin Reilly – helped by having the wind at their backs – Cavan led by four points at half time.
But in the second half Mickey Harte’s team came out and ran roughshod over the visitors, and won by 0-19 to 1-9.
There were a number of reasons for the turn around, primarily Cavan were wasteful and made too many errors. But also, the introduction of Mark Bradley made life difficult for the Breffni defence.
The fans on Twitter had their say on a number of issues including Mark Bradley’s class, Cavan’s first half display, Mattie Donnelly’s positioning and the black card (Ronan McNamee and Darren McCurry were both shown black cards):
Not sure the Mattie Donnelly FF line experiment is working …too important out the field

Mark Bradley the difference for Tyrone today. A breath of fresh air. Skill, pace, vision, intelligence and creativity. #SomeManForOneMan

More frustration with the black card in Healy park today. Inconsistency with body check. No clarity at all.
