Social Media Reaction – Tyrone are back

Tyrone's subs rush the field at the final whistle

Tyrone’s subs rush the field at the final whistle

The mighty Red Hands put in an epic second half performance against Donegal in yesterday’s Ulster final to win their 14th title, and their first in six years.

Donegal were winning going into injury time, but it took two big points from Peter Harte and Sean Cavanagh to push Tyrone over the line at the end of what was a tactical battle.

Sean Cavanagh’s monster score was so incredible that even Offaly Golfer Shane Lowry mentioned it on his twitter feed.

Donegal will feel annoyed that they didn’t create more chances, while Tyrone won the game because they were braver going forward, and their direct running paid dividends against Donegal’s defence.

But the lesson that Tyrone will have learned is that they can still deliver on the big day despite having such a changed team since their last Anglo Celt victory back in 2010.

The Tyrone player and fans including Radio 1 DJ Phil Taggart showed their delight on Twitter.
