GL Fantasy: Is this Derry injury a concern?

Mark Lynch in action during the McKenna Cup

Mark Lynch in action during the McKenna Cup

By Ronan Scott

Derry’s Mark Lynch was named to start against Cavan, but didn’t field due to a slight groin strain in the warm up.

In last year’s GL Championship Fantasy Football competition, Mark Lynch was Derry’s top scorer from midfield with 52 points 16 more than Thomas Mallon his closest rival on the Derry team.

Lynch is again named at midfield, and that means he’ll pick up double points from all those frees that he scores. However, if Lynch is pulling up with groin strain at this time of the year should us Fantasy manager’s be concerned?

The decision you have to make, is do you go with a player on his excellent form in Fantasy league and championship down the years, or jettison him for a younger model?
