Casement Park included in bid to host Euro 2028

CASEMENT Park has been included in a joint bid to host the Euro 2028 soccer tournament.

The Belfast venue joins Croke Park in a list that includes iconic soccer venues such as Old Trafford and Wembley.

The joint bid between the UK and Ireland to host Euro 2028 has been formally submitted to UEFA, with a proposed shortlist of 14 venues drawn up.

A final list of 10 stadiums will be submitted to UEFA  next April.

The UK and Ireland had initially undertaken a feasibility study looking at the possibility of bidding for the 2030 World Cup, but switched focus to the Euros.

The 14 stadiums listed are: Villa Park , Everton Stadium, London Stadium, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Wembley Stadium, City of Manchester Stadium, Old Trafford, St James’ Park, Stadium of Light, Aviva Stadium, Croke Park, Casement Park,  Hampden Park,  Principality Stadium.
