Derry name team for visit of Monaghan

By Michael McMullan

ULSTER champions Derry have named their team for Saturday night’s (7pm) visit of Monaghan in Celtic Park.

There are no changes from the side that started the Ulster final win over Armagh.

There is now place for Matthew Downey (quad injury) or Oisin McWilliams who continues his path back to full training after a shim fracture at the tail end of the league.

It’s the third championship meeting of the counties in just over a year with Derry winning the previous encounters.

Next up for Derry will be an away clash with Donegal while Monaghan will take on Clare in a first ever championship encounter between the counties.

Derry: Odhrán Lynch, Chrissy McKaigue, Eoin McEvoy, Conor McCluskey, Conor Doherty, Gareth McKinless, Paudi McGrogan, Conor Glass, Brendan Rogers, Niall Toner, Paul Cassidy, Ethan Doherty, Benny Heron, Shane McGuigan, Niall Loughlin
Subs: Ryan Scullion, Declan Cassidy, Ciaran McFaul, Shea Downey, Lachlan Murray, Ben McCarron, Paul McNeill, Padraig Cassidy, Conleth McGuckian, Mark Doherty, Diarmuid Baker
