Glen v Kilrea

Saturday, Find Insurance Owenbeg, 4pm

KILREA’S prize for an excellent win over Steelstown is a shot at the recent All-Ireland champions. The battle of Alex Doherty and Odhran McLarnon will be key. The Watties will have their eyes wide open.

Magherafelt v Lavey

Saturday, Find Insurance Owenbeg, 6pm

ROSSA were so close to overcoming Newbridge in last year’s final and have shown the early form so far. Lavey have been one of the teams striving to break into the top four. They’ve have lacked consistency recently but will have to throw everything at this one.

Ballinderry v Sleacht Néill

Sunday, Find Insurance Owenbeg, 4pm

THE Emmet’s were blistering times in their win over Glenullin but were opened to the running game. Ballinderry had targeted this weekend for a return of Gareth McKinless.

Newbridge v Bellaghy

Sunday, Find Insurance Owenbeg, 6pm

THE neighbours have 33 titles between them. The Tones have had a mixed campaign and this is the toughest ask yet. An intriguing tie with the champions going in as favourites.

DERRY INTERMEDIATE FOOTBALL QUARTER-FINALS

Desertmartin v Claudy

Saturday, Find Insurance Celtic Park, 12noon

WILL Lachlan Murray return? That is the question. Desertmartin have had the consistency that Claudy have tacked but this is the real cutting edge of the season. Desertmartin go in as favourites.

Greenlough v Lissan

Saturday, Find Insurance Celtic Park, 2pm

BOTH teams ended the league in the bottom half but have served up performances when it has mattered. Lissan knocked out Limavady last weekend but Greenlough will pose a different challenge

Craigbane v Ballymaguigan

Sunday, Foreglen, 1.30pm

THE two most decorated teams in the competition battle it out for a final spot. Craigbane were very impressive against Limavady while Ballymaguigan knocked out Foreglen. A hard one to call.

Eoghan Rua v Drumsurn

Sunday, Find Insurance Celtic Park, 2pm

DRUMSURN were dealt a blow with last weekend’s red card for star player Tiarnan Woods. Eoghan Rua gained promotion and have been marginally the fancied horse in a competitive field before a ball was kicked.

DERRY JUNIOR FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP SEMI-FINALS

Drum v Doire Trasna

Friday, Find Insurance Celtic Park, 7.30pm

THE teams who challenged Ballerin hardest for promotion face off in a potential cracker. Trasna were in control against Glack while Drum had to dig deep against Doire Colmcille. Toss of a coin.

Ballerin v Magilligan

Sunday, Find Insurance Celtic Park, 12noon

MAGILLIGAN had all their star players click last weekend to see off Moneymore. They will need more of the same to get over a Ballerin team who have proved themselves earlier in the season. Another hard one to call.

DERRY SENIOR CAMOGIE CHAMPIONSHIP SEMI-FINALS

Bellaghy v Ballinascreen

Saturday, Castledawson, 3pm

THE prize is a place in the final and both teams will fancy their chances of clinching that spot. Camogie is buzzing around Bellaghy at the minute and they might just go in as slight favourites.

Swatragh v Lavey

Saturday, Glen, 1pm

LEAGUE champions Swatragh won the championship two seasons ago and will eyeing a return to the winners’ circle. Lavey knocked out champions Sleacht Néill in the quarter final and will take confidence from that. They have last weekend’s football final to recover from.
