Cavan and Monaghan teams named for Clones clash

THIS time last year he was preparing to pull on the number one jersey but Raymond Galligan has named his side for Sunday’s Ulster SFC showdown with rivals Monaghan on Sunday in Clones (4pm).

Galligan will have to prepare  without Killian Clarke, Jason McLaughlin, Dara McVeety and Ryan O’Neill.

The Breffni threat will come in the form of Paddy Lynch who has hit 1-56 this season.

Monaghan manager Vinny Corey has named Conor McManus to start his second game of the season and there is the familiar face of Rory Beggan on the bench.

The Scotstown ‘keeper missed all of the  season to date with his NFL trials in America.

Andrew Woods misses the game with suspension while Stephen O’Hanlone, Drew Wylie and Ryan McAnespie are missing.

Sunday is the last meeting of the counties since 2021 when it needed a late Galligan fee clinched the deal after a frantic afternoon.

The winners of Sunday’s game will face Tyrone in the quarter-finals.
