Kilcoo slam ‘malicious and vile allegations’ arising from Clonduff game

Former All-Ireland Club champions Kilcoo have released a statement slamming the “malicious and vile allegations” that circulated on social media following their Down SFC semi-final win over Clonduff.

The final moments of the game were marred with ugly scenes and four red cards, and in the aftermath messages were s on social media accusing the Kilcoo players of serious verbal abuse.

Kilcoo have responded, labelling the person who posted the message as a “coward.”

“The players and committee of Kilcoo GAC are appalled at the malicious and vile allegations circulating on social media about comments allegedly made by some of our players during the course of the game between Kilcoo and Clonduff on Sunday evening past,” it read.

“For the record the players themselves and the club categorically deny these heinous accusations. No one with any sense of decency would behave in such a fashion. The author of the social media post is the villain here and no one else,” it added.
