REPREIEVE…Armagh have been handed a second chance

THE GAA have ordered a replay between Laois and Armagh after the O’Moore county used seven substitutes in Saturday’s Qualifier win.

The match will be held on Saturday, July 2 back in Portlaoise. Armagh will be without James Morgan who had surgery on his hand today.

The error occurred in injury time when Shane Murphy was introduced as a black card substitute for Brendan Quigley.

“Following an enquiry form the CCCC arising from the Round 1A Football Qualifier between Laois v Armagh on Saturday June 18, it has been confirmed that one extra substitute was used by Laois in error,” a statement from the GAA read.

“CCCC have proposed in accordance with rule, that this game should be replayed on Saturday July 2 at 3.0 in Portlaoise. Laois have accepted this proposal.”
