McCartan on board in new Louth management team

FORMER Down star and manager James McCartan is back in inter-county management as part of Ger Brennan’s ticket with Louth.

Former Dublin star Brennan, currently the GAA Executive with UCD, was ratified to take over as Mickey Harte as the Wee County’s senior football manager on Monday night, two weeks after Harte stepped down.

Niall Moyna has been appointed Head of Coaching and selector role with McCartan mixing his selector role with that for Forwards’ Coach.

David Whyte, a former Kildare player, role doubles up between selector and “MF Transitional Coach.”

James Downey (High Performance and Culture Coach) and Paul O’Flynn (Sports Psychologist) make up the management team ratified ahead of the 2024 season.

Louth will be begin the season in Division Two after back to back promotions under Mickey Harte.
