Regardless of grade, All-Ireland final days are always a special occasion.
Mayo and Monaghan descend on Glennon Brothers Pearse Park, Longford, intent on capping a memorable 2026 season.
For the Westerners, it would be a dream start to a big Saturday for Gaelic games in the county. The Green and Red camógs have already picked up league honours in 2026, and will be intent on adding the big prize.
For the Farney County, this season was a significant success before a sliotar was pucked. The Ulster outfit are fielding an adult intercounty team after a 15-year absence.
They could be forgiven for resting on their laurels at that point.
However, they have battled gamely in recent weeks, with victories over Donegal (twice) and Louth.
Mayo prevailed 1-12 to 1-6 earlier in the campaign, when the teams met in the group stages.
Stories abound on and off the field of play in this match-up.
Family ties are prevalent, with seven sets of sisters in the Mayo panel.
Monaghan go one better, with two generations of Morgans from Clontibret on the panel: sisters Codi and Sioneen will be lining out alongside their mother Michelle.
The introduction of a fourth tier in the Glen Dimplex All-Ireland Camogie Championships in 2026 has been a welcome development, and Saturday’s final promises to be a celebration of both competition and growing participation
