Schools and universities – New role for Curran, and new addition to MacRory cup

Schools

OUR Lady and St Patrick’s Knock announced this week that they have entered the MacRory Cup for the first time in their history. The Down school, which has players from Carryduff, Bredagh, Naomh Brid, and Darragh Cross, had previously played MacLarnon Football which was B level. Now that they have joined the A competition it means that they will play at the top level in both hurling and football, as they already compete in the Mageean Cup, the hurling competition. The only other school that competes at A level in both hurling and football is Derry school, St Patrick’s College, Maghera.
