TEAM NEWS: Armagh and Tyrone select squads ahead to Ulster opener

By Michael McMullan

KIERAN McGeeney and Malachy O’Rourke have named their teams ahead of Sunday’s Ulster Senior Championship opener in the BOX-IT Athletic Grounds.

Armagh have listed the same starting 15 from their last league game against Kerry but there are changes on the bench.

Rory Grogan, Andrew Murnin and Barry McCambridge are listed. Conor Turbitt and Oisin O’Neill, used as impact players in recent games, are again named among the subs.

Eight of the Armagh team have started every game of a league campaign that didn’t yield as many points as their performances may have deserved.

The 2024 All-Ireland champions will go in favourites against A Tyrone team who have struggled for form.

Niall Morgan is named in goals after Oisin O’Kane played the last three league games.

There is a return for Michael McKernan in defence with Frank Burns set for a third start since the start of the league.

Cormac Quinn, Conn Kilpatrick Ronan Cassidy and Mattie Donnelly have started every game so far.

Ruairi Canavan misses out with injury but Darren McCurry is listed for the second time in the starting line up, having started in their defeat against Cork.

The winners will face Fermanagh in the quarter-finals.
