THE GAA Club Planning Programme provides a structured process for GAA clubs to plan effectively for the future. It encourages community involvement, especially through the Club Planning Workshop, which invites all members to contribute ideas and insights.
Phase 1: Getting Started
– Clubs begin by submitting an expression of interest form to their county planning and training officer.
– The form is passed to provincial and national co-ordinators.
-A club co-ordinator is appointed to lead the planning process.
– A club planning facilitator is assigned to guide the club.
Phase 2: Doing the Groundwork
– Clubs conduct surveys, analysis, and promotional activities to prepare for planning.
– This helps ensure the workshop will produce meaningful and actionable results.
Phase 3: Creating the Strategy
– The club planning workshop is held with members and the community to gather input.
– Focus groups are created to analyse feedback and identify key action points.
– Continuous consultation ensures broad input and buy-in for the plan.
Phase 4: Writing the Plan
– The steering committee drafts the plan using feedback from focus groups.
– It is reviewed using the SCORE framework and aligns with the official plan template.
– The final plan is launched at a public event and shared in print and online.
Phase 5: Achieving Results
– A dedicated Implementation committee leads the execution of the plan.
– Responsibilities include prioritising tasks, monitoring progress, and reporting.
