Ulster Club SFC final Kilcoo v Glen Sunday, Athletic Grounds, 1pm By Michael McMullan WHEN Conor Glass kicked his ‘45 over the bar to put Glen ahead for the first time, early in extra-time, the Derry men looked to have turned the final corner. Kilcoo almost won last year’s semi-final in normal time until Emmett […]
By Michael McMullan GLEN manager Malachy O’Rourke doesn’t really take on the suggestion he’s been linked with county management posts. His name has been mentioned in dispatches when Down and Donegal had vacant positions in recent years, but he’s happy with his lot. Seated in the corner of the splendid new Armagh Harps complex at […]
By Michael McMullan GLEN manager Malachy O’Rourke has revealed his side has spent “very little” time practicing penalties as part of their preparation. Sunday’s Ulster final clash with Kilcoo is expected to be every bit as tightly contested as last year’s extra-time clash of the teams. The All-Ireland champions needed a penalty shoot-out to see […]
WE are now left with the last two teams standing in this year’s Ulster Club Senior Football Championship. When looking at the overall competition, I don’t think that anyone can argue with the two dominant teams that have made their way through to the final. Both Kilcoo and Glen have beaten in front of them […]

By Michael McMullan IT was a “different sort” of feeling for Glen after retaining their Derry title insists midfielder Conor Glass. The Wattys were 1-12 to 0-7 winners over neighbours Sleacht Néill in Sunday’s decider, a game that followed the path of the sides’ showdown last year. Glass felt getting the early lead was a […]
By Michael McMullan EMMETT Bradley has backed the character in the Glen ranks as they continue the defence of their Derry title this weekend. The Watties were 1-14 to 0-11 winners over Magherafelt and take on a Newbridge team in their first semi-final since 1994. After waltzing to glory last season, Glen made it to […]
Ronan Gallagher and Ryan McCluskey reflect on Fermanagh’s 2008 Ulster final saga against Armagh. Shaun Casey writes… 2008 was one of those summers where everything just clicked. Derry have just gone through one, Cavan experienced it in 2020, Monaghan and Donegal done likewise over the past decade. A team comes along out of the blue […]
