All-Star nominations: The Tyrone ladies looking your vote

HERE’S our three candidates for the Tyrone Ladies Football All-Star. Unsurprisingly, there’s a couple of St Macartan’s players.

SLAINNE MCCARROLL (ST MACARTAN’S)

Injury curtailed her involvement in the championship, but McCarroll still gets a nominee based on her tremendous league and championship performances earlier in the year. She was absolutely flying for her club and was the star performer for Tyrone before picking up a knock. A very intelligent player who likes to go forward.

NIAMH MCGIRR (ST MACARTAN’S)

The energetic wing-back helped pull the strings for St Macartan’s as they completed the six in-a-row in Tyrone with a championship final victory over Errigal Ciaran. He lung-bursting runs from deep are a major asset to the Clogher Valley team. Tagged on a couple of points in the final as well.

SHANNON CUNNINGHAM (ERRIGAL)

Cunningham, a former county star, played her heart out in Errigal’s defeat to St Macartan’s. Hugely influential in the engine room, and showed she still has plenty to give even though she’s in the twilight of her career. Her leadership qualities are remarkable as well.
