GABRIEL Bannigan has stepped down as Monaghan manager after two years in the positions and four years involved with the senior team.
The Aughnamullen clubman was involved in Vinny Corey’s management team for two seasons before taking over the reins once Corey stepped down.
Bannigan won a Division Two league title in his first season (2025) but the Farney County suffered relegation from the top tier this season with zero-points to show for their efforts.
They bounced back incredibly however in the championship to reach the Ulster final which victories over Cavan and Derry.
They dragged Armagh to extra time in the provincial decider, but the Orchard County came through to collect the Anglo Celt Cup.
Bannigan brought Monaghan to back-to-back All-Ireland quarter-finals, with Donegal (2025) and Louth (2026) ending their run in the competition.
