Opinion: A changing of the guard

By Shaun Casey

THE demise of Dublin is clear for everyone to see as they linger at the bottom of the Division One table, and it could point to the most exciting championship in a decade.

Kerry are flying high, but I’m not sure they can be trusted until they actually lift the Sam Maguire trophy.

I just feel there’s a self-destruction element to them. You know what you get with Mayo, but again haven’t shown that they can go all the way.

The Ulster contingent are well up the chasing pack and at least five counties from the northern province will be targeting big championship campaigns, with Tyrone, Donegal, Monaghan, Armagh and Derry all viable contenders for the Anglo Celt and as the Red Hands showed last season, a little momentum can go a long way.
