Antrim All-Star nominations – Cargin and Creggan in the reckoning

CARGIN won a record third title in a row in 2020, but had to battle some tough opponents to get there. Their final challenge was to beat their south west Antrim rivals Creggan who suffered a second final defeat to Erin’s Own in three years.

JAMES LAVERTY (CARGIN)

Laverty brought experience and determination to the Erin’s own bid for championship glory. During their run to victory he was the man charging forward with the ball, bringing the attack to their opponents.

JUSTIN CROZIER (CARGIN)

Crozier was reliable on the ball during this  year’s championship and was a steadying influence in the full back line. Creggan’s full forwards only managed two points in the decider.

RUAIRI MCCANN (CREGGAN)

McCann scored 0-8 in the county final and four of those were from play. He’s a classy performer and one who will surely help to get Creggan back to the final.
