Consistency is key for Donaghmoyne

Gerard McGeough (manager), Dwayne Carey and Colin McGeough (selectors).

Championship programme:

Monaghan SFC Group One

Donaghmyone v Inniskeen, August 2

Ballybay v Donaghmoyne, August 9

Donaghmoyne v Clontibret, August 16

Magheracloone v Donaghmoyne, August 23

Team news:

Donaghmoyne move back to the senior grade after winning last year’s Intermediate League and reaching the championship final to eventual All-Ireland finalists Magheracloone. Gerard McGeough remains in charge, although he has a new backroom team, and with no retirements from 2019 the Fontenoy’s will be hoping that continuity helps them achieve their main goal, to establish themselves as a senior team. They have been bouncing between the top tiers in recent times and last played Senior Championship in 2017 when Clontibret knocked them out Round 2B. David Garland has recently returned to the county squad but until Monaghan return to action, he will be leading the line as Donaghmoyne attempt to ruffle a few feathers. Home games against Inniskeen and Clontibret will be especially important if they are to avoid the relegation play-offs.
