Down retain Ulster Camogie crown

Ulster Senior Camogie Final 2019

Down 2-8 Antrim 0-10

From Odhrán Crumley in Clones

Down have retained the Ulster Camogie Crown in a pulsating encounter against Antrim in Clones.

Last years All-Ireland finalists took a six point lead after as many minutes, Niamh Mallon landing an early major.

Martina Rooney’s team would fail to score for a further twenty six minutes as Katie McAleese landed all of her teams first half points but, her side still trailed by two at the break.

The destination of the trophy would be decided in the final quarter as goalscorer Mallon was denied allowing Sara Louise Carr to take full advantage and fire into the net to seal victory.
