Hughes is new Armagh minor manager

BRENDAN Hughes is the new manager of the Armagh minors.

Hughes, who is currently over Monaghan club Corduff, guided Pearse Og to the 2009 Armagh title – ending Crossmaglen’s 13-year winning streak in the competition.

He was also an Armagh selector under Paul Grimley and in more recent times has been heavily involved with the Armagh underage teams. He has also managed the minors previously alongside Paul Kelly and Denis Hollywood.

Hughes’s backroom team includes a notable name in Shane McConville, the current Ogs manager who guided Maghery to their first-ever Armagh Senior title in 2016.

Former Armagh defender Paul Watters from Killeavy is also involved, as is Belleek man Brendan Savage. Culloville’s Barry Watters is also part of the management team.
