Lavey can not be taken lightly

LAVEY

Management:

Barry McLoughlin (manager), Jason O’Connor (assistant manager), James Gilcreest (selector).

Championship programme:

League stage round one:

Lavey v Crosserlough, August 2

Team news:

Aaron McCabe was a big player in Lavey’s half-back line last year but he has signed for Longford Town so will not be available. Conor Martin has had an arm injury but will be back for the championship. As will Daire Tierney who is recently back in training too. Chris Conroy is unsurprisingly captaining the side this year and he is a real leader in the team. The energetic Gerry Smith will act as vice-captain and the pair are hoping to drive on the younger players emerging. Manager Barry McLoughlin said that their championship games with Crosserlough is “a massive challenge but not one that Lavey will shy away from.” That’s been the way for them in recent times. They have made the quarter-finals for the last four seasons and have been very unlucky not to make at least one final. Really underperformed in the quarter-final against Crosserlough last year though so they should have plenty of motivation for their August 2 meeting at Kingspan Breffni. Operating in Division Two but can not be taken lightly.
