Truagh taking big strides forward

Keith Sheerin, Barry Cuddy, John McElholm and Larry Strain.

Championship programme:

Monaghan SFC Group Two

Scotstown v Truagh Gaels, July 26

Truagh Gaels v Latton, August 9

Carrickmacross v Truagh Gaels, August 16

Truagh Gaels v Castleblayney, August 23

Team overview:

This Truagh team has been ramping up the pressure in recent seasons and will be hoping that they can really progress to the next level. In November 2018 they won their first Senior League title in 43 years and although they only reached Round Three of last year’s championship, there were some good moments. Included in those was a comprehensive opening round win over Castleblayney (4-15 to 2-12) while they only lost to heavyweights Scotstown after penalties. They will have revenge on their minds when they travel to their neighbours next weekend. Their squad should be stronger this year as Niall Rooney and Pauric Treanor have returned from Dubai but former Monaghan forward Daniel McKenna remains in America.
