JIM McGuinness will remain at the helm of Donegal’s senior footballers in 2027 after being reappointed on Monday night. McGuinness returned to intercounty management in 2023 on an initial three-year term, with an option to extend his tenure for a fourth season. That option has now been taken up, with the Donegal County Board confirming […]
RYAN McHugh felt Sunday’s Division One final victory over Kerry one of Donegal’s best performances in a long time. Jack O’Connor was pleased in Ballyshannon that Kerry had come back and not made things ugly. But it was at times on Sunday and at one stage Kerry were on course for their biggest-ever defeat in […]
By Michael McMullan CIARÁN Thompson admits Kerry were the better team on All-Ireland final day, something Donegal have to make peace with and attempt to right the wrongs in 2026. Losing the season’s biggest game was a double disappointment for the Naomh Conaill man who was forced off before half-time with a cruciate ligament injury. […]
CAOLAN Ward has brought the curtain down on his time with the Donegal senior football team and will not be involved in 2026. The Letterkenny man played minor and u-21 county football and made his senior debut in 2013 in the McKenna Cup against Fermanagh. He had to bide his time for an opportunity in […]

The […]

WE head into round three of championship action here in Donegal this weekend and to date there have been a couple of strange results. Before a ball was kicked, many people have fancied the likes of St Eunan’s, Kilcar and Naomh Conaill but some of the so-called weaker teams have been giving all the big […]

I’m sure we can all remember attending club games all over the country last season and what was on display […]
A NUMBER of Donegal club managers have hit out at the decision not to postpone the first round of the senior championship with a number of inter-county players noticeably absent in the first week of action. Gaoth Dobhair in 2018 was the last time neither St Eunan’s or Naomh Conaill lifted the Dr Maguire Cup, […]
BEFORE I get stuck into the club championship scene which gets underway in Donegal this weekend, I just want to revert back to last week’s column. I have been in this game long enough to understand how it works. Once you put pen to paper, anyone can pull quotes from here there and everywhere and […]
